THE GOSPEL - MATTHEW, Chapter 18:18

"Verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Again, I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the midst of them."

To Pray Successfully.......

Love The Lord, thy God, with all thy heart.  Be specific in what you're asking for.  Set aside a time each day for prayer and talking to God.  Put aside all worldly desires and humble yourself before The Throne of God.  Listen for the voice of The Holy Spirit.  Forgive your enemies.  Expect spiritual warfare.  Make changes in your lifestyle toward the way of The Lord.  Expect miracles!

For the Sick..........

ISAIAH 40:28

"Do you not know or have you not heard?  The Lord is the eternal God, creator of the ends of the earth.  He does not faint nor grow weary, and his knowledge is beyond scrutiny.  He gives strength to the fainting; for the weak he makes vigor abound.  Though young men faint and grow weary, and youths stagger and fall, they that hope in The Lord will renew their strength.  They will soar as with eagles' wings.  They will run and not grow weary, walk and not grow faint."

In Times of Financial Trouble.............

PSALM 112

"Happy are those who fear The Lord, who greatly delight in God's commandments.  Their descendants shall be mighty in the land, a generation upright and blessed.  Wealth and riches shall be in their homes; their prosperity shall endure forever.  They shine through the darkness, a light for the upright; they are gracious, merciful and just.

All goes well for those gracious in lending, who conduct their affairs with justice.  They shall never be shaken; the just shall be remembered forever.  They shall not fear an ill report; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in The Lord.  Their hearts are tranquil, without fear, till at last they look down on their foes.

Lavishly, they give to the poor; their prosperity shall endure forever; their horn shall be exalted with honor.  The wicked shall be angry to see this; they will gnash their teeth and waste away; the desires of the wicked come to nothing."

For the Homeless or For God's Blessings For a New Home.............

Psalm 61 ~

"Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer.  From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

For Thou has been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.  I will abide in Your tabernacle forever.  I will trust in the cover of Your wings.  Selah.

For You, O God, have heard my vows.  You have given me the heritage of those that fear Your name.  You will prolong the king's life, and his years as many generations.  He will abide before God forever.  O prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him.

So will I sing praise unto Your name forever, that I may daily perform my vows."

ALSO...Psalm 84 ~

"How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord Almighty!  My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of The Lord.  My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.

Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young - a place near your altar.  O Lord Almighty, my King and my God.  Blessed are those who dwell in your house; they are ever praising you.  Selah.

Blessed are those whose strength is in you, who have set their hearts on pilgrimage.  As they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a place of springs; the autumn rains also cover it with pools.  They go from strength to strength till each appears before God in Zion.  Hear my prayer, O Lord God Almighty; listen to me, O God of Jacob.  Selah.  Look upon our shield, O God; look with favor on your anointed one."

For The Lost and the Oppressed.............

Zephaniah 3:14..........

"Sing, O daughter of Zion.  Shout, O Israel.  Be glad and rejoice with all your heart, O daughter of Jerusalem.  The Lord has taken away your judgments.  He has cast out your enemies.  The king of Israel, even The Lord, is in the midst of you.  You shall not see evil anymore.

In that day, it shall be said to Jerusalem, Fear not; and to Zion, let not your hands be slack.  The Lord your God in the midst of you is mighty.  He will save.  He will rejoice over you with joy.  He will rest in His love.  He will joy over you with singing.

I will gather those who are sorrowful for the solemn assembly, who are of thee, to whom the reproach of it was a burden.  Behold, at that time, I will undo all that afflicts you, and I will save her that halteth, and gather her that was driven out; and I will get them praise and fame in every land where they have been put to shame.

At that time will I bring you again, even in the time that I gather you; for I will make you a name and a praise among all people of the earth; when I turn back your captivity before your eyes, saith The Lord."

Pregnancy, Birth and New Life...........

Psalm 1...........

Happy are those who do not follow the counsel of the wicked, nor go the way of sinners, nor sit in company with scoffers; rather, the law of The Lord is their joy.  God's law they study day and night.  They are like a tree planted near streams of water that yields its fruit in season.  Its leaves never wither; whatever they do prospers.

For Troubled Relationships...........

Psalm 140...........

Deliver me, Lord, from the wicked.  Preserve me from the violent, from those who plan evil in their hearts, who stir up conflicts every day, who sharpen their tongues like serpents, venom of asps upon their lips.  Selah.

Keep me, Lord, from the clutches of the wicked; preserve me from the violent who plot to trip me up.  The arrogant have set a trap for me; villains have spread a net, laid snares for me by the wayside.

I say to The Lord:  You are my God.  Listen, Lord, to the words of my prayer.  My revered Lord, my strong helper, my helmet on the day of battle.  Lord, do not grant the desires of the wicked; do not let their plots succeed.  Selah.

Around me they raise their proud heads; may the mischief they threaten overwhelm them.  May God rain burning coals upon them, cast them into the grave never more to rise.

Slanderers will not survive on earth; evil will quickly entrap the violent.  For I know The Lord will secure justice for the needy, their rights for the poor.  Then the just will give thanks to Your Name; the upright will dwell in Your presence.

For Those in the Military in Times of War.........

Psalm 60..........

O God, You rejected us, broke our defenses; You were angry but now revive us.  You rocked the earth, split it open; repair the cracks for it totters.  You made your people go through hardship, made us stagger from the wine You gave us.  Raise up a flag for those who revere You, a refuge for them out of bowshot.  Help with Your right hand and answer us that Your loved ones may escape.

In the sanctuary, God promised:  I will exult, will apportion Shechem; the valley of Succoth I will measure out.  Gilead is mine, mine is Manassah; Ephraim is the helmet for my head, Judah, my own scepter.  Moab is my washbowl; upon Edom I cast my sandal.  I will triumph over Philistia.

Who will bring me to the fortified city?  Who will lead me into Edom?  Was it not You who rejected us, God?  Do you no longer march with our armies?  Give us aid against the foe; worthless is human help.  We will triumph with the help of God, who will trample down our foes.

We are Under God's Protection...........

PSALM 91

"You who dwell in the shelter of the Most High, who abide in the shadow of The Almighty, Say to the Lord, "My refuge and fortress, my God in whom I trust."  God will rescue you from the fowler's snare, from the destroying plague; will shelter you with pinions, spread wings that you may take refuge.  God's faithfulness is a protecting shield.

You shall not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day; nor the pestilence that roams at darkness, nor the plague that ravages at noon.

Though a thousand shall fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, near you it shall not come.  You need simply watch; the punishment of the wicked you will see.

You have made The Lord for your refuge; you have made The Most High your stronghold.  No evil shall befall you, no affliction come near your tent.

For God commands the angels to guard you in all your ways.  With their hands, they shall support you, lest you strike your foot against a stone.  You shall tread upon the asp and the viper, trample the lion and the dragon.

Whoever clings to me, I will deliver; whoever knows my name, I will set on high.  All who call upon me I will answer.  I will be with them in distress; I will deliver them and give them honor.  With length of days, I will satisfy them and show them my saving power."

Painting ~ Saint Michael by Raphael

Waiting for God's Timing...........

Psalm 62 ~

"My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from Him.  He alone is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress, I will never be shaken.

How long will you assault a man?  Would all of you throw him down - this leaning wall, this tottering fence?  They fully intend to topple him from his lofty place; they take delight in lies.  With their mouths they bless, but in their hearts they curse.

Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him.  He alone is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress, I will not be shaken.  My salvation and my honor depend on God; He is my mighty rock, my refuge.

Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge.

For Safety When Traveling............

Psalm 121 ~

"I raise my eyes toward the mountains.  From where will my help come?  My help comes from The Lord, the maker of heaven and earth.

God will not allow your foot to slip; your guardian does not sleep.  Truly, the guardian of Israel never slumbers nor sleeps.  The Lord is your guardian; The Lord is your shade at your right hand.

By day, the sun cannot harm you, nor the moon by night.  The Lord will guard you from all evil, will always guard your life.  The Lord will guard your coming and going both now and forever."

To Ask God's Forgiveness ~

Psalm 51..........

"Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your unfailing love, according to your great compassion.  Blot out my transgressions.  Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.

For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me.  Against You, You only, have I sinned and done what is evil in Your sight; so that You are proved right when You speak, and justified when You judge.  Surely, I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.  Surely, You desire truth in the inner parts; You teach me wisdom in the inmost place.

Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.  Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones You have crushed rejoice.  Hide Your face from myh sins, and blot out my iniquity.  Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.  Do not cast me from Your presence or take Your Holy Spirit from me.  Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and grant me a willing spirit to sustain me.

Then, I will teach transgressors Your ways, and sinners will turn back to You.  Save me from bloodguilt, O God, the God who saves me, and my tongue will sing of Your righteousness.  O Lord, open my lips and my mouth will declare Your praise.  You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it.  You do not take pleasure in burnt offerings.  The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; and broken and contrite heart.  O God, you will not despise."

In Times of Sorrow and Worry ~

1 Peter 5:6...........

"Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time.  Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.

Be self-controlled and alert.  Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.  Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

And the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will Himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.  To Him be the power forever and ever.  Amen."
